Our Mission

We are committed to the upliftment of the economically and socially disadvantaged section of society through dissemination learning and uniform expansion of their mental, physical and moral aspects thereby generating for society an effective workforce.

We aim chiefly:

• To impart quality education to the socio-economically disadvantaged students of sub-urban and rural areas of Assam as well as North East India.
• To provide moral, civic and value-based teachings.
• To produce workforces with self determination and the ability to secure self employment.

Glimpse of the College

Dispur College is a provincialised college of Arts Stream. It started with 40 students and 10 teachers and at present the number of students is more than 3000 and the number of teachers is more than 45 having Arts, Commerce and from the 2007-08 session professional streams like BBA and BCA. From the session (2008-2009) the college is going to start PGDCA under Gauhati University. It is affiliated to Gauhati University. Presently, it has three shifts: MORNING, DAY and EVENING. 

• The college is a partner institute of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) under convergence scheme from session 2008-09. It is  running nearly 11 different courses under IGNOU. It is also a study centre of K K Handique State open University.
• From this year the college is running oral coaching centre for ICWA. For placement it has a tie up with Technable of Calcutta. 
• In collaboration with VIMS (Study centre of TradeWing) it has signed a MOU to start different courses in aviation and tourism.

It has a strong infrastructure for good academic environment having various support systems.
